Title: Pie Baking 101
Location: the Cooking School at Irwin Street

Description:
You will learn how to roll crust, and will make your very own pie!
Pumpkin or Pecan, your choice!
You will bake it in class, and take it home to enjoy.
Also, Chef Sandy will demonstrate how to make a two-crust apple pie, which you will enjoy at the end of class – of course, with a scoop of delicious Jake’s Ice Cream.

This is a stick-to-your ribs, warm up for winter, comfort of comfort foods class….

We’ll start our soup session by making both a chicken stock and vegetable stock, then proceed to making Potage Basque (potato barley), Southwestern Black Bean, Minestrone My Way, and Corn Chowder…sampling each as they are complete. I’ll make sure there’s plenty of crusty baguette…damn son…gonna have to make grilled cheese sandwiches, too.

Title: Play With Your Food
Location: Cooking School at Irwin Street Kitchen
Description: This is a parent and child class. It’s the mother and child/father and child reunion in the kitchen! Make your kids an asset in the kitchen. During Play With Your Food classes, parents join their children as they may learn how to make pasta or soup from scratch, bake bread, scramble eggs, mac and cheese and make crazy grilled cheese sandwiches. Each class is different and so far every kid has begged for more.

Kids age 8 and up, must be accompanied by parent.
